Our Lessons

Welcome to Hawaii Horsemanship Academy! We provide riding and horsemanship lessons for students of all experience levels, taught in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment.

While students do book the same lesson type online, each session is tailored to their individual growth—their instruction progresses as they do! Learn more about our lesson options below.

Horsemanship & Riding Lesson

Designed for ages 10 years and older, students will learn foundational horsemanship skills, spend some time in the saddle, and begin their journey into horseback riding! Each lesson evolves in accordance with the student.

Keiki Horsemanship/Riding Lesson

A specialized lesson for the littlest of riders! Students will learn attainable horsemanship skills & spend some time in the saddle learning about body positioning, balance, control and communication with their horse! Each lesson evolves in accordance with the student.

Adult Cohort

This Cohort is for adult riders and is welcome to all experience levels. Up to 6 riders may be present for each session. Compared to a regular lesson, this cohort offers longer instruction time, a peer-learning environment, and more opportunity to build community with one another.

No Prerequisite Required

This Cohort is for youth riders and is by invitation only. Up to 6 riders may be present for each session. Students will be in a small group setting, where they will exercise their learned knowledge and build upon current skills. They will also collaborate with their peers to build knowledge together through games and other exercises!

Advanced Youth Cohort

Clinics

This Cohort is for advanced riders and is by invitation only. Up to 6 riders may be present for each session. This cohort also places a strong emphasis on peer learning—students may teach one another and work toward being able to instruct beginner lessons themselves.
